How Bodies Speak came to be…

About 8 years ago one of my daughters became very ill with ulcerative colitis. Hospitalization, transfusion, pain, tons of medication and about 2 years of missed school were just some of the things we had to deal with. Lying on the sofa day after day Emily would ask me to rub her feet, she said it helped the pain go away.

Well, one evening when I was massaging her feet I felt this electric current go from the hand that was on the sole of her foot, through my body and out through my foot into the floor. I had never even heard of energy healing at the time but soon after that experience I came across Rosalyn Bruyere’s book; “Wheels of Light”. In it she describes her work with energy fields and chakras, all of  which sounded very similar to my experience.  So the first chance I had I went away for a bit and trained with her.

Since then I have also trained with another school of energy healing, Healing Touch.

I personally have a congenital fusion of a couple of the vertebrae in my neck. I was in so much discomfort and pain that I was sure I would end up needing to have surgery until a woman I do some personal and spiritual work with suggested I just let the pain have its own voice and “speak”. When I did, it simply said; “I’m scared, I’m holding on too tight”.

In a microsecond my pain eased by at least half and the entire concept of BodiesSpeak was born. It was instantly clear that most of my pain was simply my souls way of getting through to me that I had some emotions that I didn’t want to acknowledge or deal with. My soul was going to do its best to make sure that I acknowledged the totality of my emotional make up and not just the stronger, wiser, braver emotions that I preferred to see myself as having in spades.

In that flash of time I was overwhelmed with the idea that this knowledge isn’t widely available. How could a process so simple and so profoundly effective not be as common as mud?

I began exploring my own body, the work of others in the mind/body field, writing and working with people close to me. My articles brought people to me who felt that I could help and it was with these people that I learned the importance of incorporating energy healing into my practice.

Now I am in a place in my life where I am ready to expand the reach of BodiesSpeak. I hope you find it to be as profoundly helpful as so many others have.
